A statement from Superintendent Dr. Matthew S. Haas
Dear colleagues, students, families, and community members,
It is with great joy that we celebrate 40 of our local educators with a Golden Apple Award. In a year where we’ve asked educators not only to adapt to rapidly changing conditions but also lead our children through the same changes, our staff deserve a little recognition. And I think our community agrees with that sentiment. In a normal Golden Apple year, nominations usually top out somewhere around 100 overall nominations. This year, we received more than 1,700 nominations. I think this proves that our community has taken notice of the hard work and dedication our teachers and other staff have put into making sure our kids felt connected from wherever they were and wanted to honor that. So, to our staff, I say this: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all your hard work this year and congratulations on a well-deserved award.
